Kimi Raikkonen wins formula one Grand Prix

Kimi Raikkonen stole all the headlines in the Brazilian Grand Prix as he managed to win not only the Brazilian Grand Prix but also became the new Formula One Champion. It was Raikkonen's first ever formula one crown as he managed to slip past the Mclaren's fellow drivers Alonso and Hamilton. It was day full of disappointment for both Mclaren's driver as they were ahead in the points table than Raikkonen.

Raikkonen won his first F1 title by taking advantage of Lewis Hamilton's mistake on the first lap and a subsequent gearbox problem with his McLaren, combined with Fernando Alonso's disappointing run. Raikkonen took the lead with 21 laps to go, rallying from third in the drivers' standings to win the closest title race since 1986. His teammate Felipe Massa was second and helped him secure the title by pushing Alonso in third place.

Hamilton could finish only seventh, ending his attempt to make history by winning the title in his maiden season and to become the first rookie driver to be a F1 champion. Raikkonen, who has won two more races than anyone else this season, won the championship with 110 points, with Alonso and Hamilton tied on 109 points. Congrats to Raikkonen for his maiden F1 championship. It will be a more intensified battle next time around as all the three drivers will be preparing harder next year.
