Wenger are you dreaming?

Mr Wenger are you still in your dreams? We all know the team went close last time. But they faded away when it matters most. Instead it was Chelsea who picked the momentum till the last moment. And for Arsenal they were even beaten in the table by Manchester City. There were lots of rumors going on during the January transfer window about need for a defender. Talks were about 'Samba' mostly. You took your chances on Vermaelen who may or may not be fight for whole of the season. Bad luck for you Wenger as well as all Arsenal fans Vermaelen did not recovered on time. The error prone defender Squillaci had to play in crucial matches and the result everyone can see. Had you signed Samba or any other defender who could had not repeated the errors of Squillaci than who knows the title would have been Gunners.

Again the start of the new season and every other title challengers are recruiting players and Mr Wenger seems resilient. The defending champions signed players Jones, De Gea, and most likely will sign Sneijder. Look at Liverpool they have signed quality strikers in January in Suarez and Caroll. In this window they signed Henderson (yet to be proven though at big stage) for hefty sum while Downing is on the way. Manchester City will always be there even though they haven't made any big signings yet but they are the richest club and afford to buy anyone until and unless the player decides to play for them and that surely is bound to happen as they are in the Champions League.

Look at Arsenal, than star players Fabregas and Nasri are making headlines on the paper. Lots of transfer rumors going on around. They have third or fourth highest wage bill yet could not afford to give their best player the best salary that the club could give. Nasri should have been given wages on par with Fabregas and from my point of view he should let Fabregas leave (well of course not cheap). Thanks God at least you signed a player 'Gervinho'. Looks like he is a good player. I don't know you still believe that your team can fight for championship when even the champion team they are recruiting new quality players. Wenger please wake up before its too late..............................................

Yes you are Mr. Wenger

Every time there is a growing optimism that this is the year to win title, Arsenal crash at the final hurdle. Mr Wenger always adheres the policy he feels that is right and doesn't even care to see what every Arsenal fans can see the flaws in the team. He is a modest man and feels all those who love the club are just ignorant people who knows nothing about the club.

The people who follow every game, every transfer gossip related to the club are ignorant? Mr Wenger you don't accept that you are wrong. Never ever, but this time you are finally accepting it that you are to blame for the poor team. Yes you are Mr. Wenger. When you already know that your main central defender is unfit for the whole season you don't buy any replacements. That is the way to manage football. The only good news for Arsenal this season is the fact that Arsenal don't need to look for goalkeepers anymore, as Szczesny looks decent enough goalies that Arsenal had for years.
This was the easiest season to win the premier league as no team league good enough losing matches here and there. Yet Arsenal failed to deliver on the promise. It's not anymore about potential it's about winning. If you don't deliver the potential after remaining there for 5 years or so than they all were false potential.
I will not be surprised if again Wenger refuses to sign players the team needs. I think a lot of people are giving suggestions that he should sign this or that players. A recommendation to all Arsenal fans are that stop telling Wenger to sign players. As we all know he doesn't listens to people's opinion. So if every one of us tell him not to sign any players than maybe he will sign players(as always going against the opinions of the fans).

Mouth watering title drama

This season title challenge in the English Premier League is going to be a mouth watering, as Chelsea and Manchester United are both capable of winning it. But, the destiny lies in the hands of Chelsea who are on 83 points one point above the Red devils who are on 82 points. Chelsea should have won this already but their incapability to hold on the consistency has taken the title right down to wire. A mouth watering title finish, on the final day Chelsea are entertaining Wigan while Man U are entertaining Stoke City.

If Chelsea wins their match than the title is there's, if again Man U loses their match, than Chelsea are the winners again. If Chelsea lose or draw its match against Wigan and Man U win their match against Stoke City than only the Red devils are going on to hold to their title. Certainly the title showdown has been a fiercely contested battle this term as the mid table teams has improved a lot and showed at times they are capable of winning against the big teams.

AC Milan wins the FIFA world club championship

AC Milan won the FIFA world club championship for the first as they won the match against south American counterpart Boca Juniors 4-2. Even though European side has upper hand in terms of quality and strength but it's teams from South America that has been winning the FIFA world club championship. Filipo Inzaghi scored 2 goals while Kaka and Nesta added the other for the Italian club. Rodrigo Palacio and an own goal by Ambrosini scored the consolation for the Boca Juniors.

The tournament consisted of the champions of all the continent and it's the only official tournament from the FIFA that will declare the world's best club. Asia's Urawa Reds from Japan finished third after beating Etoile Sportive du Sahel . FIFA world club championship has certainly been a tournament where clubs from different continent showcase their power with each other. But it's always the European and South American teams who make it to the finals.

Euro 2008 finals draw

The draw for Euro 2008 finals were held and concluded. The qualified 14 teams and the two hosts are now being divided into 4 groups consisting of 4 teams each. Only the two top teams will make it into the next knock out round of the tournament. As the seeding were announced it was likely that 4 teams that were bookmaker's favorite to win the tournament can be casted in the same group. But it didn't happened only three teams were pitted alongside with that pedigree. The so called group of death teams are Italy, France, Romania and the Netherlands as they are all in Group C. One notable thing to not is that Italy and France qualified from the same group and Netherlands and Romania also qualified from the same group of the Euro 2008 qualifiers.

In Group A, Switzerland will be fighting for knock out places with Czech Republic, Turkey and Portugal. This group is also a fairly tight group as the Czech, Portugal and Turkey all have some star players playing in their side and the Swiss has home crowd behind them.

In Group B, co host Austria were pitted alongside Croatia, Germany and Poland. This group is the easiest group of all as Austria are not strong team and Poland does not boost some quality players in their side. Croatia and Germany will fancy strongly to move into the next round.

In Group D, one of the tournament favorite Spain will be battling with Russia, Sweden and defending champion Greece. This group also boost some strong battles as non of the team are less strong then other in terms of their game play. Spain are tipped as group winners and the other three teams have equal chance of qualifying to next round.

The groups are:

Group A:
Switzerland
Czech Republic
Portugal
Turkey

Group B:
Austria
Croatia
Germany
Poland

Group C:
Holland
Italy
Romania
France
Group D:
Greece
Sweden
Spain
Russia

Fabregas: new wonder footballer

CescFabregas the wonderkid from Spain has now already established himself as one of the most feared midfielders. In the previous season he had already shown some promising talents. But lagged some goal scoring touch which he has perfected this season. The fine form of Arsenal this season is largely due to the wonder plays of the spanish sensation Fabregas.

Many big clubs have already set eyes on him but Arsenal has acquired him for quite sometime now. This promising footballer is on the verge of stardom and has many fans scattered all over the world. Arsene Wenger pulled this sensational player from Barcelona's youth team. Fabregas was a raw diamond which Mr Wenger moulded into a fine piece of ornament which every football team want to decorate their team with. He has the vision of the old Arsenal legend Bergkamp and the eye for goal of Paul Scholes. Fabregas will certainly be entertaining every football lovers for years to come.

Nepal lost to Oman 2-0

Nepal lost its World cup qualifying match to Oman 2-0 in its home territory. Previously it had also lost 2-0 in Oman's ground thus making it 4-0 aggregate scoreline. The match was a lack luster performance from both sides. The hype and anticipation of the crowds did not meet as Nepal played down two easy goals to Oman. They were a gift given to Oman as they did not find right rhythm and a clear cut goal scoring opportunity.

Nepal had the very first chance to take the lead, Pradeep Maharjan could not reach the high through ball from the defense line. Had Nepal taken the lead, the final scoreline would have been different. Mohammed Hasem Saleh and Mohammed Al Hinai scored for the Oman. Nepal kept pressing in final seconds of the match but could not score any goals.

A miracle Victory

In the first round of fixtures few surprising results came along the way. But the headline stealing results was obtained by the new kid on the block the newly promoted Sunderland. Sunderland which was promoted last year from the championship with some scintilating performance in thier last round of matches and becoming the champions at the end of the championship.

In a fairy tale story they were up against one of the premiership's best team managed by the dutch tactician Martin Jol's tottenham hotspurs. They really fought hard for their match against the spurs and it looked like the sunderland had earned a vital 1 point in thier very first match in the top flight, they stole full 3 points at the very last moment. Congrats to the former ManU skipper Roy Keane and his army of hardworking players. Sunderland looks like a team more than capable of staying in the Premiership.

The victory against the spurs will reamin vividly in the memories the sunderland fans for the whole season if not for life.

Asian Cup 2007

Asian Cup probably does not get the attention of the World cup and the Euro Cup. But it definately features some of the hottest talent of footballers from teh biggest continent of the world. Asian football is yet to climb the heights of European and South American but has shown promise especially by some countries like Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Iran. Most recently Australia has also joined the AFC as Australians bear some European talents like Mark Viduka, Harry Kewell, John Aloisi, Lucas Neil and many others will definately bring quality to the Asian level.

This year's Asian Cup hosted jointly by 4 countries is now on the climax stage. The teams that ha reached are Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Iraq are the surprised team that has entered the final whereas Saudi are already champions couple of times. Iraq ousted one of the tournament favourites South Korea in a tight encounter which were decided on penalties while Saudi ousted the defending champions Japan in the another semifinal.

Certainly Saudi Arabia are the favourties and Iraq are the underdog team. But it won't be a surprise if Iraq wins the tournament as Iraq has already won some memorable matches in the tournament. Let's see who wins the Asian cup 2007 in a few days.
